The two large gas powered boilers responsible for heating Aquamoves’ indoor pools and providing additional warm air to the Willy O’Callaghan Pool Hall during the winter months, have reached the end of their life.

Operational and maintenance costs of the now 21 year old boilers have been increasing steadily and so Council will be replacing them with new state of the art energy efficient condensing boilers. These new condensing boilers will allow us to maintain more stable temperatures in each of the pools, while at the same time ensuring a reduction in gas consumption.

Aquamoves Operations Coordinator Sean Harrap says contractors have been diligent in developing a plan that will ensure minimal impact on centre operations.

“Members and guests don’t need to be concerned, as we don’t anticipate a reduction in water temperatures during the changeover period.”

Removal and installation works are scheduled to commence on Monday 27 May.
