A very warm welcome to our new Aquatic Program and Education Coordinator Liliana!
Lili's first day at Aquamoves was on Tuesday 17 August and then she found herself in isolation the next day after visiting a Tier 1 exposure site!
Swimming is Liliana's passion. You'll find her in the swimming pool every morning, even on the weekends. She says there is something about the chlorine smell that she really enjoys?
Liliana has been involved with the sport of swimming since age 3 and has even represented her home country Mexico in the Master's Pan-American and World Championships. Her specialty is open water events, where she achieved first place in the Pan-American Games and 10th in the World Championships in the 3km Open Water event.
Liliana also has an engineering background and a Master's degree in Sports Management. She worked as an Equipment Application Engineer back in Mexico for 5 years and for 3 and a half years as an Operational Development Manager in Melbourne. Lately, Liliana has been introduced to cycling and can't wait to ride around the beautiful flat landscape of Shepparton, as she doesn't like hills. Also, give her a good puzzle or sudoku to solve, and she says she'll be entertained for days.
Liliana: "I am excited to join the tight-knit team at Aquamoves. I am really looking forward to further developing the aquatic programming on offer and encouraging children to learn and love the sport of swimming. I can't wait to meet all our wonderful users once Aquamoves re-opens and aquatic classes resume."
