We are so very excited to let you know the Aquamoves gym will re-open from 12 noon tomorrow, Wednesday 23 November!
The gym is re-opening - no 20/7 access yet
Members can re-activate their membership using the Aquamoves Portal or by asking our Customer Service team to assist when visiting the centre.
To ensure member safety, 20/7 gym access will not resume just yet. In the interim the gym will be available between 6am to 8pm Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm Saturdays and 8.30am to 5.00pm Sundays.
Group fitness is ready to return
Our group fitness classes will return from next Monday 28 November 2022 and our instructors are very much looking forward to exercising with you all again! Stay tuned for a timetable release later in the week.
Indoor pools
The main pool circulation pumps (pictured below) have been returned and are expected to be reinstalled tomorrow. The pools will then be refilled and the water balanced during the remainder of this week and throughout next. In terms of reheating the pools, this needs to be done slowly (0.8 degrees per day max). The current water temperature is 19 degrees and so that means a 10 to 12 day reheating period. This is to minimise the risk of tiles popping or concrete cracking should the pool shell be shocked during the reheating. We will confirm a resume date for the indoor pools and our aquatic programming as soon as we are confident of appropriate water quality and temperature.
Outdoor pools and Splash Park
The pumps and dosing controllers in the Outdoor Leisure Pool/Splash Park plant room were all inundated with water, restricting access for a week longer than other areas. Cleanup is ongoing and the return of the pumps is expected next week.
No time is set for the re-opening of the outdoor 50m pool at this stage. There is a positive outlook with the water table starting to drop. The pumps were removed prior to water rising and so are ready to reinstall. An assessment on the gas boilers is scheduled for later this week.
Rural pools in Mooroopna, Merrigum and Tatura
The rural pools are on track to open from Saturday 3 December 2022. Stay tuned for further info on these facilities.
