Here's a quick update as to how restoring our outdoor aquatic facilities from flood damage is progressing.
50m Pool
We reached a big milestone this week when it finally became possible to commence draining the 50m pool. This will allow us to begin a wash down of the pool shell in the coming days and once completed, pressure testing on the pumps and pipework will begin. After this we will have a better understanding on whether the pool has sustained any major structural damage. Unfortunately we are unable to provide a re-opening date estimate at this time.
Leisure Pool
A wash down of the pool shell will begin in the coming days, allowing us to determine whether the pool has sustained any major structural damage. The pool’s electronic controllers will need to pass a series of tests spanning a number of weeks before it can be re-opened. Unfortunately we are unable to provide a re-opening date estimate at this time.
Splash Park
A final wash down of the Splash Park is being undertaken this week, allowing an hygienist to complete an inspection of the splash pad. The pool’s electronic controllers will need to pass a series of tests spanning a number of weeks before it can be re-opened. Unfortunately we are unable to provide a re-opening date estimate at this time.
