We are pleased to introduce Flow Yoga as a regular part of our Group Fitness Timetable on Thursdays at 7.30pm.
What is Flow Yoga?
It's a contemporary Yoga style that links poses in order to achieve a continuous and smooth flow of movement. The flowing movements are also combined with longer holds of certain postures.
Classes begin with gentler movements to warm up the body and then move into progressively more challenging flow sequences. The sessions offer a full body strengthening and stretching workout that will leave you feeling both energised and relaxed. Beginners are welcome!
Get to know Jessica Jacobi
Jessica has recently joined our team as a Yoga instructor.
Jess has always enjoyed physical activity and from a young age was involved in gymnastics, martial arts, folkloric dances and was formally trained as a classical ballet dancer.
Her passion for body movement techniques and curiosity about physiology lead her to pursue a career in life sciences. Born in Mexico, Jessica moved to Australia in 2008 and found work as a Neuroscientist. She tried Yoga for the first time in 2010 and found it helped her to improve old injuries, recover fitness, manage stress and also aided in the process of adaptation to a new country.
After a year of studying Yoga, Jessica became a full time Yoga Instructor and she now teaches a unique style of Yoga called ‘Flow Yoga’, which is influenced by her dance training and other traditional Yoga practices. Her classes are an eclectic blend of Hatha and Vinyasa Flow styles and are suitable for both beginners and experienced Yoga practitioners; with the particular aim of exploring the joy of body movement.
Jess has been teaching Yoga in Melbourne, Gippsland and this year moved to Shepparton. She says she loves to keep learning Yoga and other movement techniques from experienced teachers, adjusting and improving her own Yoga style.
You can now experience Jess’ Flow Yoga class for yourself, every Thursday evening at 7.30pm here at Aquamoves. Check out our entire Winter Timetable by clicking here.
