Aquamoves will open this Challenge Shepparton weekend as the triathlon event coincides with the season opening of the centre’s outdoor pools and Splash Park.
Centre manager Marcus Cook said visitors would be able to access all of Aquamoves’ facilities, including the gymnasium, indoor pools, spas and sauna, group fitness classes, and the outdoor pools. Please note normal entry fees apply.
“All our pools will be life-guarded, the café will be open for business sand the main centre will be open as usual with the water slide, Rapid River and Tarzan rope,” Mr Cook said.
The main drawcard of the weekend will be the outdoor pools where Mr Cook said families and friends were welcome to come and watch competitors participate in the triathlon, while enjoying the giant inflatable on the 50m pool.
“We want to absolutely welcome and encourage visitors to the region to pack their bathers and visit,” Mr Cook said.
“You can stand in the Splash Park and watch competitors go past. People can sit on the deck, enjoy the sun and watch the race.”
Aquamoves will again host the swim leg of the Trikids event in its outdoor 50 m pool this year following the event’s one-year stint in Victoria Park Lake.
“We are super-excited to have the kids’ tri back in the pool. It provides a much safer environment for kids and beginners,” he said.
Mr Cook said Challenge Shepparton participants would be able to complete their warm-up in the 50m pool, and then use the centre’s change rooms and showers following their events.
“Aquamoves will be an extension of the Challenge atmosphere,” he said.
“We are excited to support the premier event in town. We think it’s fantastic for the town and the centre wants to be part of it.”

Restricted vehicle access to Aquamoves
The excitement builds to race day! Note: restricted vehicle access to Aquamoves during Challenge Shepparton.
Please be aware there will be restricted vehicle access to Aquamoves throughout the Shepparton Multisport Festival and Challenge Shepparton weekend.
On Saturday 12 November, Tom Collins Drive will be closed to all vehicles from 2pm. Pedestrians can still access the centre on foot via the front entrance during this time. Tom Collins drive will remain closed to traffic until the completion of the Challenge Shepparton event at approximately 3pm on Sunday 13 November.
Our boundary gate which borders the northern end of Victoria Park Lake will be opened on Sunday to improve access for members and guests, while the front customer service entry point will also be open during our normal operating hours.
As there will be increased traffic, road closures and reduced access to the centre, we recommend allowing extra time when leaving to visit us so you can find suitable parking nearby and walk to the centre.
Please be sure to follow the directions of Traffic Marshalls and be mindful of the safety of others.
