Aquamoves has received a $6,000 grant from the Victorian Government’s Department of Human Services to improve access to facilities for people with a disability.
The grant was used to purchase a second change table, which was installed last week for the hydro pool area, to alleviate waiting times when a number of people are waiting to be changed.
Aquamoves Centre Manager Lindy Baldi said hydrotherapy pool user groups identified the need for a second change table.
"In winter it is especially important that people do not have to wait to be changed," Ms Baldi said.
"Aquamoves has been working closely with GV Centre Disability Services and Aquamoves user groups to identify how to improve access to and facilities within the centre.
"The number of people using the hydro pool has increased in recent times and this has contributed to the need for more equipment.
"To help support these users, Aquamoves will also be purchasing a curtain to section off the second change table for privacy of the users."
