Greater Shepparton teenagers will benefit from the new ‘Teen Gym’ program at Aquamoves this summer.

Aquamoves Dry Area Coordinator Jess Osborne says it’s vital for teens to live a healthy lifestyle from a young age, which involves being socially and physically active.

“Teen Gym was developed to give young teens who may be suffering from obesity or poor health the opportunity to access the gym and cardio facilities,” says Ms Osborne.

“Aquamoves also receives numerous requests from teenagers who want to use the gym to develop their fitness for competition sports such as football and cycling,” she says.

“This new program delivers a healthy approach to exercise and focuses on increasing strength, cardiovascular fitness and self confidence,” adds Ms Osborne.

“Regular exercise can help reduce the effects of diabetes, obesity and depression which are increasing among young teenagers,” explains Ms Osborne.

“The program also offers teens the opportunity to meet new friends in a safe and friendly environment.”

Aquamoves Teen Gym is suitable for all fitness levels and abilities and is supervised by a qualified fitness instructor.

The four week Teen Gym program will commence on Wednesday 28 December with sessions held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 1.00pm and 3.00pm. The program costs $48.
