Input is being sought from the community in relation to a discussion paper that has been prepared to guide the development of an Aquamoves Master Plan.

Acting Mayor Cr Kevin Ryan said the master plan will provide an enhanced strategic direction for the facility.

“Aquamoves has been in existence for seven years now and has matured into one of regional Victoria’s leading aquatic and fitness centres. We welcome the input of community members into how we can continue to improve the service and facilities provided at Aquamoves.”

“A growing membership base, the aging outdoor area infrastructure and increasing group usage have all been significant factors driving the need to undertake a detailed planning process for the future,” Cr Ryan said.

“Copies of a discussion paper are available to the public for comment and feedback. It includes information relating to Aquamoves facilities, programs and services, as well as more general trends in the aquatic, health and recreation industries which will guide potential opportunities for Aquamoves.”

“The master plan, which will be developed using input from the discussion paper, will outline how the older components of the site can be better utilised and how new facilities can enhance the opportunities of members and users.”

“We are receptive to the needs of our community both now and in the future, and therefore this is an excellent opportunity to provide feedback on this valuable community asset,” Cr Ryan added.

The Aquamoves Master Plan Discussion Paper is available from the Council office, 90 Welsford Street, Shepparton or on 5832 9700; by contacting Aquamoves, Tom Collins Drive, Shepparton on 5831 8188; or via the Council’s website, www.greatershepparton.com.au.
