A new fitness program, GI Mums, developed especially for mothers will start at Aquamoves next week.

GI Mums solves one of the most common problems facing mums when starting a new exercise program.

Aquamoves Centre Manager Leanne Mulcahy said it can be difficult for mums to find the time to exercise particularly with the often limited availability of child care.

"The five week GI Mums program overcomes this barrier by providing the opportunity to exercise at a time when occasional child care is available at Aquamoves," Ms Mulcahy said.

"The first GI Mums program was held throughout May and has proven to be extremely popular for people of all fitness levels.

"Previous participants achieved remarkable fitness and weight loss improvements and many are keen to take part in this month's program.

"The camaraderie within the group creates a supportive and enjoyable environment in which to exercise.

"Fitness assessments are conducted prior to the program starting so participants can clearly see their level of improvement."

The hour-long sessions begin next week and are held each Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11.15am.
