Aquamoves upgrade is well on the way to completion for a February opening.

The indoor pools (including the leisure pool, 25m pool, spas and hydrotherapy pool) will all re-open on Monday 1 February. Term One swimming lessons will also commence on this day.

Aquamoves’ upgrade of the indoor wet area change rooms and sauna is still occurring and these facilities will remain unavailable next week. However the project is on track for an early February re-opening.

Aquamoves members and guests will notice the pool hall concourse has been resurfaced using an epoxy seal called ‘Monotek.’ The new $150 000 surface is expected to last at least 10 years.

‘‘The pool hall will be much safer for customers and there will be less slips and falls,’’ centre manager Sarah Lewis said.

The wet area change room upgrades will include new showers, basins, toilets, seating, hand dryers and a revamp of the internal floors, walls and ceilings.

‘‘The pool hall and wet area change room works are significant with over 10 different trades and associated staff all working hard to finish the project, managed by council’s project partner Crow Constructions, on time,’’ Ms Lewis said.

‘‘These are part of a number of exciting projects that have been occurring at Aquamoves over the past 18 months.

"A combined total of $2.6 million has been spent on improving facilities for our customers including the new bike shelter, car park redevelopment, car park lighting upgrade and the new splash park shade sail.’’
