Final car park works delayed

Please note: this is an old article

It was published in January 2016, so the information may be out-of-date.

Due to heavy rain yesterday and more forecast for today, the final sealing works to be undertaken on the Aquamoves car park have been rescheduled until Monday 1 and Tuesday 2 February. We apologise for the inconvenience.

The car park has been fully functional for several months and the final works to seal the Stage One and Two areas, as well as some sections of path will complete the car park project and will ensure the same level of finish that has been achieved on the Stage Three section (along the front of the building).

Unfortunately these final works will require the same changes to traffic as before, with only the southbound roadway in operation.  Traffic will have to travel south along Tom Collins Drive and continue through the caravan park to exit onto Wyndham Street.  Aquamoves management are asking all patrons to please drive slowly and carefully through the caravan park for the safety of pedestrians.  It is a busy time at the caravan park with many families holidaying in the area.  We have sought access to the road through the caravan park for the benefit of Aquamoves members and patrons.  As such we request that you respect the suggested driving speeds through the caravan park and drive slowly for the safety of pedestrians.

The works will also mean that there are limited parks in close proximity to the Aquamoves building, so we encourage you to either park along Tom Collins Drive or south of the roundabout and walk to the facility rather than drive a full lap around the lake.  Please note that as some sections of the path will also be getting sealed, pedestrian access will be changed and will require people to walk on the grass when coming from the south of the building.  The main path at the front of the building has been closed off for preparation works, but will be reopened for use until Monday 1 February when the sealing works will be done.  Please note that the surface will have changed and temporary ramps will be at either end until the sealing work is completed.

Once again we apologise for the inconvenience and look forward to the completion of the project.  Thanks for your cooperation and patience.
