The COVID-19 outbreak is an unprecedented event in recent history. As part of the national effort to slow the spread of COVID-19, the Federal Government has placed further restrictions on gatherings including placing a limit of no more than 100 people for indoor gatherings from the end of today.

In adhering to this direction, Greater Shepparton City Council will close Aquamoves until the end of April 2020. This will take effect from 9pm today; Wednesday 18 March 2020.

Evidence from around the world has shown that pre-emptive measures are extremely effective in containing the spread of the disease and currently there are no known cases of COVID-19 in the Greater Shepparton region.

The closure of Aquamoves includes all facilities, programs, services and future events.

All memberships, swimming lessons and visit passes will automatically be placed on suspension effective immediately, you will not be charged during the closure.

Please keep an eye on the Aquamoves website and social media (Facebook and Instagram) for regular updates. Although the centre will be closed, we are currently looking at ways we can continue to support the community to keep active through the online world. This period of closure will be re-evaluated and assessed constantly to adapt to the evolving situation and any changes will be communicated on a regular basis.

We understand this is a very stressful and uncertain time and we want to encourage you to stay positive, remain calm and look after others. Be sure to keep as active as you can – remember it’s scientifically proven that exercise boosts your immune system, mood and overall health.

If you have any further questions or concerns please email customerservice@aquamoves.com.au.

We’ll speak to you very soon.

Yours in health and well-being,
The Aquamoves Team
