A new exercise program designed to encourage people with disabilities to get active and have fun will start at Aquamoves on Monday 13 July between 5.00pm and 6.00pm.

Happy Steps is a weekly exercise program which focuses on movement, coordination and basic strength training.

Aquamoves Centre Manager Lindy Baldi said the classes are fun for participants with a large focus on the music and simple movements.

"The program was developed with the Department of Human Resources and is designed around music and is low impact, which makes it perfect for people with disabilities to get involved in exercise," Ms Baldi said.

"Participants can work at their own pace and enjoy themselves during the one hour session.

"We do ask that carers come to assist and join in the fun as well.
